Me vs. 24-hour time (24-hour time won)

I cannot do 24-hour time in my head. Genuinely. Someone says “let’s meet at 17:45” and my brain just shows me the loading spinner. I know it’s literally subtract 12. I know. It doesn’t matter. The second I see a number bigger than 12 with a colon in it, I dissociate.

Normal people would, I don’t know, practice? Use a cheat sheet? Count on their fingers like a civilized adult? Google it? Ask ChatGPT? I’m not proud of it but I have.

I am a programmer though. So I built a web app for it. You drag the numbers; it tells you what time it actually is. That’s it. I spent half a day on this instead of doing grade-school arithmetic and I’d do it again.
